About

Hi, I”m Kyle, a 20-something living in Atlanta, GA. For my day job, I work for a software company but ever since graduating college, investing, economics, and personal finance have been a huge hobby of mine. My goal is to reach financial independence by 40, which means by then my income from financial assets should exceed income from my job.

Early Retirement Blog is a blog all about my quest to retire early, my goal being to be semi-retired by the time I reach 40. That doesn”t mean I won”t choose to work either full- or part-time, but rather I hope to have the financial means necessary to support myself independently if I so desire.

If you have any comments or suggestions (suggestions especially!) please email me at: kyle at [this domain] dot com. I also run another more personal finance blog focused on more general investing topics called Amateur Asset Allocator and a Spanish-learning blog, Learn Spanish On Your Own

I am reaching mandatory retirement age as a federal law enforcement officer. I will be leaving this job in the coming months. I do plan to keep busy with part-time teaching, consulting, and volunteer work that mean something to me. So I will keep looking at your blog.

Hi there, I am in the process of writing a book about retirement and would like to know how you felt on your ‘last’ day of full-time work; the feelings that you went through at that time, and how your actual retirement experience compared to/differed from your expectations.

The site is great and I would really appreciate your input!
